What makes Philips Avent glass bottles strong?

Published on 16 July 2026

Our glass bottles are made from premium borosilicate glass. It is a high-quality material known for its durability and clarity.

We understand it can feel a bit worrying to use a glass product for your baby. The good news is that Philips Avent glass bottles are designed to be strong, reliable, and suitable for everyday feeding.

You can clean them by hand-washing or in the dishwasher, and safely sterilize them by boiling, using a steam sterilizer, or a microwave sterilizer. The glass stays clear, hygienic, and scratch-resistant, even after many uses.

Yet, like any glass product, a glass bottle can break if it falls on a hard surface. To keep feeding safe and comfortable, always handle the bottle with care.

For the best experience, don’t freeze the bottle in a freezer or put a very cold bottle straight into boiling water.

Before each use, inspect the bottle for any signs of damage. Do not let children handle glass bottles on their own. Avoid using metal spoons to stir or clean inside the bottle, as this may damage the glass. If you see any chips, cracks on the bottle, or glass fragments inside the bottle, stop using the bottle immediately and replace it.
