There is no water in the water tank
If the water level in the water tank is below the minimum, or empty, your appliance will not generate steam. Ensure that there is water in the tank or that the water is above the MIN level icon. After this, your iron should work again.
The iron is not ready to steam
Your steam generator iron needs up to two minutes to heat up before it is ready to produce steam. Please wait until the blue/white 'iron ready' light stops flashing and lights up continuously.
The steam trigger is not pressed
To generate steam, please make sure to press the steam trigger:
If you have a Philips Steam Generator Iron with a temperature dial, always set the temperature dial at the 2-dot, 3-dot, or LINEN position as shown in the image below.
Your steam generator iron does not produce steam when the temperature dial is at the 1-dot position, the SYNTH setting, or in Calc-Clean.
If your iron has the OptimalTemp feature, you can generate more steam by pressing and holding the steam trigger.
If your steam generator iron has the Steam Boost function, you can double press the steam trigger to activate it.
