Published on 20 May 2025
How to connect the new auto-empty station to your robot:
Unpack and place the station (XV1451) in your desired location within your home. Plug in the power cable to turn the station on.
Note: Disconnect or remove the original charging station completely before installing the new station.
- Place the robot on the station manually to ensure it properly detects and connects. Check that it begins charging before proceeding.
- Open the Philips Homerun Robot app on your phone and select your robot.
- You will see a popup in the home screen informing you about the new station being detected. Select "got-it" to confirm. (see figure 1)
- The "auto-empty" feature will now be automatically activated in your robot settings.
- The robot is now ready to be used with the new station (XV1451).
Important:
- For first-time setup on the same floor, disconnect or remove the original charging station completely.
- During regular use, if you have multiple stations switched on, on the same floor, place them in separate rooms to prevent the robot from getting confused. Please ensure that the stations are at least 20 meters away from each other when being used on the same floor.
- It is possible to use multiple stations on different floors. To clean a different floor, it is important to first create a map of the new floor.
Using the robot with multiple stations on different floors:
The 5000 series robots can be connected to multiple stations. This is useful if you have a home with multiple floors.
- Place your desired station on the floor of your choice. Make sure the robot is connected and already charging at one of the stations before you begin.
- Start a cleaning session with the robot on the first floor.
- Once the robot has finished cleaning and returned to the original station, carry the robot to the next floor.
- Manually place it at the new station. Make sure it begins charging.
- Open the Philips Homerun Robot App and select your robot.
- You will see a popup in the home screen informing you about the new station being detected. Select "got-it" to confirm. The popup will inform you which station it is detecting (see figure A and B).
- Depending on which station is detected, the Auto-Dust collection feature will either be automatically added or removed from your settings.
- In the home screen, go to the settings by tapping the gear icon on the top right corner. Select "my maps".
- Select the map of the new floor (see figure C). Click on "use this map".
Tip: If you haven’t created a map for the new floor yet, make sure to do so — this helps your robot clean more efficiently!
- Start the cleaning session with the robot on the new floor.
