TEE Transducer Guidance

This Philips HLD (High-Level Disinfection) instructional demonstration provides a comprehensive overview of cleaning and high-level disinfection procedures for the TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography) transducer. The video demonstrates three methods:

  • Manual Cleaning and Manual High-Level Disinfection: Step-by-step instructions on how to manually clean and disinfect the transducer, emphasizing the importance of not exposing the handle or connector to liquids.

  • Manual Cleaning with ASTRA TEE Automated Machine: Instructions on manually cleaning the transducer followed by the use of the ASTRA TEE automated machine for achieving high-level disinfection.

  • Bedside Cleaning with TEEClean Automated Machine: This method involves a quick bedside cleaning followed by automated cleaning and high-level disinfection using the TEEClean system.

Each method emphasizes the critical steps of avoiding liquid exposure to non-immersible parts of the transducer, ensuring thorough drying, and performing safety inspections post-cleaning.

Additionally, the demonstration advises consulting Philips Service or the care and cleaning instructions for detailed guidance or troubleshooting.
